BACKGROUND: The concavity of the temple due to adipose tissue atrophy from aging accentuates the zygomatic arch and lateral orbital rim, leading to an aged appearance. The use of hyaluronic acid filler in the temporal region has gained popularity due to its procedural simplicity and consistent outcomes. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the safety of administering hyaluronic acid filler in the temporal region concerning the frontal branch of the superficial temporal artery, which is at risk of injury. METHODS: Empirical observations were conducted on the internal diameter of the frontal branch of the superficial temporal artery, a critical anatomical site for potential injury. RESULTS: A significant proportion of the artery segments exhibited an internal diameter below 1 mm. Given that the outer diameter of an 18-gauge cannula is 1.27 mm, this method can be considered a relatively secure approach for enhancing the temporal region. CONCLUSION: The use of an 18-gauge cannula for hyaluronic acid filler administration in the temporal region appears to be a safe and effective method, with the potential risk to the frontal branch of the superficial temporal artery being minimal.

BACKGROUND: The signs of aging seem to be more visible on the neck compared to other locations, especially if a patient has already gone through facial rejuvenation procedures. Treatment of the aging neck imposes a challenge to the clinician, since one single approach is usually not enough to achieve the desired result, requiring multiple injections and sessions, which apart from being painful for the patients, is time-consuming for the clinician. AIM: To describe the use of calcium hydroxyapatite, incobotulinum toxin type A and Cohesive poly-densified matrix hyaluronic acid diluted in the same syringe and injected in the same session for neck rejuvenation. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Fifteen women, older than 18 years, with cervical skin flaccidity grade 1-4 in a previously validated 5-point rating scale (Dermatologic Surg, 2016; 42, S94), who sought neck rejuvenation were injected in this pilot study with a single session with a combined hybrid mixture of calcium hydroxyapatite, incobotulinum toxin type A, and Cohesive poly-densified matrix hyaluronic acid and followed up for 90-180 days. RESULTS: At the 4-month post injection evaluation, 93.3% of the patients presented at least 1-grade improvement in the 5-point scale as evaluated by the investigator. No serious adverse events were reported, being most mild and transient in nature. CONCLUSION: CaHA, incoBonTA, and CPM-HA have complementary mechanisms of action and may be injected from the same syringe in the same session, boosting the final outcome, with high patient satisfaction, and ease of process for both patients and clinicians.

Striae distensae or stretch marks are a common complaint among women and can be distressing. The present study aimed to assess the efficacy of a mixture of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and six amino acids when applied with a specific intradermal injection technique known as intra-mural fluid technique. A clinical study was carried out in 32 patients (with a dropout rate by 9.4%) with striae distensae alba (SA) in one or more of the following anatomical areas: breast, abdomen, inner thigh, trochanteric area, gluteal area, posterior supra-iliac area, and lumbar area. Product efficacy was assessed by the investigator using the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale, while a Likert scale was used to evaluate to score the treatment tolerability and a QoL stretch marks questionnaire was used to investigate the patients' self-body image. The treatment was effective in improving the appearance of SA fifteen days after the second treatment and 6 months after the first treatment (and after a total of 4 treatments). The product efficacy and tolerability were also perceived by the patients during each treatment session. Our results suggest that the test treatment is a valid treatment option to decrease the appearance of SA. An imbalance between M1 and M2 macrophage polarization is critical in osteoarthritis (OA) development. We investigated the effect of M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles (M2-EVs) to reprogramme macrophages from the M1 to M2 phenotype for OA treatment. M1 macrophages and mouse OA models were treated with M2-EVs. Proteomic analysis was performed to evaluate macrophage polarization in vitro. The OA models were as follows: destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM) surgery-induced OA and collagenase-induced OA (CIOA). Hyaluronic acid (HA) was used to deliver M2-EVs. M2-EVs decreased macrophage accumulation, repolarized macrophages from the M1 to M2 phenotype, mitigated synovitis, reduced cartilage degradation, alleviated subchondral bone damage, and improved gait abnormalities in the CIOA and DMM models. Moreover, HA increased the retention time of M2-EVs and enhanced the efficiency of M2-EVs in OA treatment. Furthermore, proteomic analysis demonstrated that M2-EVs exhibited a macrophage reprogramming ability similar to IL-4, and the pathways might be the NOD-like receptor (NLR), TNF, NF-κB, and Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathways. M2-EVs reprogrammed macrophages from the M1 to M2 phenotype, which resulted in beneficial effects on cartilage and attenuation of OA severity. In summary, our study indicated that M2-EV-guided reprogramming of macrophages is a promising treatment strategy for OA.

Graves' ophthalmopathy (GO) is an extrathyroidal manifestation of Graves' disease, Orbital fibroblasts (OFs) are recognized as key players in GO pathogenesis, involved in orbital inflammation, tissue remodeling, and fibrosis. This study offers a primary exploration of cell behavior and characteristics on OFs from GO (GO-OFs), and compared to OFs from healthy control (HC-OFs). Results reveal that GO-OFs exhibit delayed migration from tissue fragments, while no significant difference in cell proliferation is observed between GO-OFs and HC-OFs. Aberrant expression pattern of surface proteins Thy-1, TSHR, and IGF-1R suggests shared autoantigens and pathways between GO and GD, contributing to inflammation and fibrosis. Investigations into cytokine responses unveil elevated secretion of hyaluronic acid (HA) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in GO-OFs, emphasizing their role in tissue remodeling. These findings deepen our understanding of OFs in GO pathogenesis, offering potential therapeutic avenues.

Objective: To demonstrate the non-inferiority of the novel hemostatic agent, Hemofence® (BMI Korea Co. Ltd., Jeju Korea, thrombin cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel matrix) compared to the established agent, Floseal Hemostatic Matrix (Baxter, thrombin-gelatin matrix) in achieving hemostasis for spinal surgeries, with secondary objectives to assess additional efficacy and safety. Methods: This clinical trial was a multicenter, randomized, subject-blinded, active-controlled, parallel-group, phase 3 study. Investigational drugs were administered to the first and second bleeding sites of each participant (or only to the first site if a second site was absent), evaluating hemostasis success rate within 10 minutes and the time to achieve hemostasis. Subsequent visits were conducted for safety assessments. For non-inferiority test, a 97.5% one-sided confidence interval was used; the test group was deemed non-inferior if the lower limit exceeded -10%. Results: This trial showed a 97.10% success rate in the test group and 96.05% in the control group for primary efficacy. The 95% confidence interval (-4.90%, 7.44%) confirmed the test drug's non-inferiority. Time to hemostasis showed no significant difference between groups. All adverse events, adverse drug reactions, and serious adverse events were statistically similar between groups (p=1.0000, p=0.2427, and p=0.9663, respectively). Conclusion: A novel hemostatic agent, Hemofence®, demonstrated an efficacy and safety profile comparable to that of Floseal.

In order to improve the wound repair environment, this research has successfully developed a new multifunctional hydrogel dressing, which has strong adaptability and can accelerate wound healing. Pioneering the development of metal-ion-controlled hydrogel dressings, this research integrates dopamine and imidazole double crosslinked networks with metal-ion coordination. The resulting hydrogel dressing exhibits a notable antibacterial effect and exceptional mechanical properties, withstanding pressures of up to 12 kPa, tensions of 25 kPa, and maintaining skin adhesion at 6 kPa. Furthermore, the dressing can self-heal within only 7-8 s post-injection. Impressively, the hydrogel achieves complete biodegradation within a short timeframe (37 h). Notably, the use of various metal ions facilitates painless peeling during the degradation period, perfectly aligning with the requirements of an ideal wound dressing. This study has made significant progress in the fields of trauma repair and materials, providing strong solutions for dealing with harsh post-traumatic environments.

The first line of glaucoma treatment focuses on reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) through the prescription of topical prostaglandin analogues, such as latanoprost (LAT). Topical ophthalmic medicines have low bioavailability due to their rapid elimination from the ocular surface. Nanotechnology offers innovative ways of enhancing the ocular bioavailability of antiglaucoma agents while reducing administration frequency. This study aims to combine LAT-loaded synthetic phosphatidylcholine liposomes with hyaluronic acid (0.2% w/v) and the osmoprotectants betaine (0.40% w/v) and leucine (0.90% w/v) (LAT-HA-LIP) to extend the hypotensive effect of LAT while protecting the ocular surface. LAT-HA-LIP was prepared as a mixture of 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, cholesterol and α-tocopherol acetate. LAT-HA-LIP exhibited high drug-loading capacity (104.52 ± 4.10%), unimodal vesicle sizes (195.14 ± 14.34 nm) and a zeta potential of -13.96 ± 0.78 mV. LAT-HA-LIP was isotonic (284.00 ± 1.41 mOsm L-1), had neutral pH (7.63 ± 0.01) and had suitable surface tension (44.07 ± 2.70 mN m-1) and viscosity (2.69 ± 0.15 mPa s-1) for topical ophthalmic administration. LAT-HA-LIP exhibited optimal in vitro tolerance in human corneal and conjunctival epithelial cells. No signs of ocular alteration or discomfort were observed when LAT-HA-LIP was instilled in albino male New Zealand rabbits. Hypotensive studies revealed that, after a single eye drop, the effect of LAT-HA-LIP lasted 24 h longer than that of a marketed formulation and that relative ocular bioavailability was almost three times higher (p < 0.001). These findings indicate the potential ocular protection and hypotensive effect LAT-HA-LIP offers in glaucoma treatment.

BACKGROUND: Skin aging can be observed at various levels in the epidermis, dermis, and dermo-epidermal junction. Reducing the cosmetic effects of skin aging in the facial region is a widespread demand due to common aesthetic concerns. Consequently, many injectable products on the market promise antiaging effects and cosmetic improvements. We aimed to evaluate the cosmetic efficacy of a high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate and amino acids mixture for the facial region using morphometric analysis. METHODS: This study evaluates the morphometric effectiveness of an injectable mixture (high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate, glycine, L-Proline, L-leucine, L-lysine HCL, L-valine, and L-alanine collagen active ingredient) on the mid-face and jawline in women aged 30-55. We used morphological measurements and digital image data to assess changes and determine effectiveness. Various computational methods were applied simultaneously with statistical tests for validation. RESULTS: The hydration assessment showed a significant increase on both sides of the face. A noticeable decrease was observed in gonion angle, bitragion breadth, bigonion breadth, and marionette wrinkle scale. These results suggest combining mechanical and chemical stimulation from the injection and its components (hyaluronic and amino acids) effectively enhances skin quality. CONCLUSIONS: The study indicates that the mechanical stimulation of the injection improves skin quality. Combining hyaluronic and amino acids (collagen, elastin, and pro-synthetic) is a safe and effective alternative for antiaging treatments.

BACKGROUND: Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a widely used active cosmetic ingredient. Its multiple skin care benefits are modulated by its molecular weight. Low molecular weight (LMW) HA can penetrate the skin, but high molecular weight (HMW) HA remains at the surface. Here, we assessed how vectorization of HMW HA with bentonite clay-achieved with an innovative technology-enhances its cosmetic and hydrating properties. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The two HA forms were applied to skin explants; their penetration and smoothing effects were monitored by Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The two forms were biochemically characterised by chromatography, enzyme sensitivity assays, and analysis of Zeta potential. Cosmetics benefits such as, the smoothing effect of vectorised-HA was assessed in ex vivo experiments on skin explants. A placebo-controlled clinical study was finally conducted applying treatments for 28 days to analyse the final benefits in crow's feet area. RESULTS: Raman spectroscopy analysis revealed native HMW HA to accumulate at the surface of skin explants, whereas vectorised HMW HA was detected in deeper skin layers. This innovative vectorisation process changed the zeta potential of vectorised HMW HA, being then more anionic and negative without impacting the biochemical structure of native HA. In terms of cosmetic benefits, following application of vectorised HMW HA ex vivo, the skin's surface was visibly smoother. This smoothing was clinically confirmed, with a significant reduction in fine lines. CONCLUSION: The development of innovative process vectorising HMW HA allowed HMW HA penetration in the skin. This enhanced penetration extends the clinical benefits of this iconic cosmetic ingredient.

PURPOSE: This study explores the use of ultrasound-guided Hyaluronic Acid (HA) injections for Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy (IAT). METHODS: A cohort of 15 ankles diagnosed with IAT received three weekly ultrasound-guided HA injections. The Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment - Achilles (VISA-A) questionnaire scored the severity of symptoms and functional impairment before treatment, and at one and six months post-treatment. RESULTS: Significant improvement was observed in VISA-A scores post-treatment, rising from an average baseline of 34.8 ± 15.2 (11-63) to 53.6 ± 20.9 (15-77) after one month, and then to 50.7 ± 18.6 (20-75) after six months. No adverse reactions were noted, underscoring the safety of the intervention. CONCLUSION: The pilot study presents HA injections as a potentially effective treatment for IAT, while interpretation of these findings must take into account the variability in results, indicating a range of patient responses. It encourages further research to confirm these findings and to explore HA's full potential in managing IAT, despite the limitations of a small sample size and lack of control group.

Objective: This systematic review aims to describe the clinical outcomes after TMJ arthroscopy followed by intra articular infiltration with different substances. Materials and Methods: A literature search was carried out, the variables were Arthroscopy with different substances, pain and maximal mouth opening. The inclusion criteria were articles that reported infiltration of different substances after arthroscopy. Case series, observational studies, and randomized clinical trials were included. Exclusion criteria were studies that included arthrocentesis, animal studies, connective tissue disease, patients with previous surgeries. Results: Of the 5 studies finally included, the population studied were 346 subjects, of which 315 were female. The mean age was 34.7 (16-77). Regarding diagnoses, Wilkes III and Wilkes IV were taken into account. The most commonly used substance was sodium hyaluronate/hyaluronic acid in 4 of the 5 studies. Conclusion: Multiple substances have been infiltrated within the temporomandibular joint, with sodium hyaluronate/hyaluronic acid being the most studied. However, the benefit of substances like ATM artroscopia adyuvantes has not been clearly established. It is recommended in future studies that the substances and results be evaluated in the same way to obtain more homogeneous studies.

Microneedle technology offers a minimally invasive treatment strategy to deliver chemotherapeutics to localized tumors. Amalgamating the surface functionalized nanoparticles with microneedle technology can potentially deliver drugs directly to tumors and subsequently target cancer cells via, overexpressed receptors on the cell surface, thereby enhancing the treatment efficacy while reducing side effects. Here, we report cetuximab anchored hyaluronic acid-oleylamine and chitosan-oleic acid-based hybrid nanoparticle (HA-OA/CS-OA NPT)-loaded dissolving microneedles (MN) for targeted delivery of cabazitaxel (CBT) in localized breast cancer tumor. The HA-OA/CS-OA NPT was characterized for their size, surface charge, morphology, physicochemical characteristics, drug release behavior, and in vitro anti-cancer efficacy. The HA-OA/CS-OA NPT were of ~125 nm size, showed enhanced cytotoxicity and cellular uptake, and elicited a superior apoptotic response against MDA-MB-231 cells. Subsequently, the morphology and physicochemical characteristics of HA-OA/CS-OA NPT-loaded MN were also evaluated. The fabricated microneedles were of ~550 µm height and showed loading of nanoparticles equivalent to ~250 µg of CBT. The ex vivo skin permeation study revealed fast dissolution of microneedles upon hydration, while the drug permeation across the skin exhibited ~4-fold improvement in comparison to free drug-loaded MN. In vivo studies performed on DMBA-induced breast cancer in female SD rats showed a marked reduction in tumor volume after administration of drug and nanoparticle-loaded microneedles in comparison to intravenous administration of free drug. However, the HA-OA/CS-OA NPT-MN showed the highest tumor reduction and survival rate, with the lowest body weight reduction in comparison to other treatment groups, indicating its superior efficacy and low systemic toxicity. Overall, the dissolving microneedle-mediated delivery of targeted nanoparticles loaded with chemotherapeutics offers a superior alternative to conventional intravenous chemotherapy.

Resistance to antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin (CIP) is becoming a critical issue and needs to be addressed globally. CIP is widely used because of manifold uses; however, the long-term therapy poses serious health risks including FDA black box warnings such as tendinitis and peripheral neuropathy. Therefore, nanotechnology-based products can be an effective measure to improve therapeutic outcomes by maintaining the dose at the target site while reducing the dose-dependent toxicity. Biodegradable and biocompatible polymers, Chitosan (CS) and Hyaluronic acid (HA) were used in this work due to their diverse biological characteristics. A simple yet economical ionic gelation method was employed to synthesize nanoparticles with a plexus-like network; nanoplexes, followed by spray-drying to obtain the dry powders to improve stability. Quality by Design (QbD) approach was utilized during the study for robustness and standardization followed by Design of Experiment (DoE) for optimization in a holistic way. The mean particle size of the optimized powder sample was found to be 301.1 nm with a percentage encapsulation efficiency (% EE) of 78.8 %. In-vitro dissolution studies corroborated the controlled release of CIP over 48 h. Also, mathematical kinetic modeling was applied to obtain thorough insight into the mechanism of drug release. Moreover, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were presented to be lower in the case of prepared dry powder as compared to CIP, stating that nanotechnology can improve antimicrobial activity.

BACKGROUND: Liquid rhinoplasty, a non-surgical procedure using hyaluronic acid (HA) to reshape and refine the nose, has gained in popularity as an alternative to traditional surgical rhinoplasty although its results are not definitive. However, the lack of standardized injection protocols has raised concerns about treatment consistency and patient safety. OBJECTIVES: In this article, the authors propose a systematic protocol for the most common indications of liquid rhinoplasty. METHODS: By adopting a standardized methodology, healthcare professionals can enhance patient safety, improve treatment consistency, and optimize patient satisfaction. RESULTS: The protocol includes standardized injection sites categorized as dorsal, paramedian, tip and endonasal injections. Specific injection areas are recommended for different nasal shapes such as droopy noses, dorsal humps, nasal saddle deformity, inverted V deformity, tip shape abnormalities, twisted noses, revision cases with dorsal irregularities, and internal nasal valve dysfunction. While variations in filler dosages may be necessary based on individual patient needs, a conservative approach is recommended to maintain natural-looking results and reduce the risk of complications. CONCLUSIONS: The increase in non-surgical techniques for nasal refinement offers patients more options, and systematized injection protocols based on different nasal types provide a structured framework for liquid rhinoplasty. BACKGROUND: Chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, posttraumatic ulcers, and pressure sores, present a significant challenge in healthcare due to their complex nature and resistance to conventional treatments. This retrospective observational study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of an ointment containing hyaluronic acid and collagenase in treating such wounds. METHODS: The study included 70 patients with various chronic wounds treated in our clinic from January 1, 2020, to October 1, 2023. The patients were selected according to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, and comprehensive baseline data was collected. The treatment involved the application of a hyaluronic acid and collagenase ointment, followed by regular follow-up and data analysis. RESULTS: Significant improvements in wound bed scores (WBS) were observed, with a reduction in healing times for all types of wounds. High patient satisfaction rates were reported, along with efficient debridement and notable pain reduction. Diabetic ulcers showed the most significant improvement in terms of healing time and WBS. CONCLUSIONS: Hyaluronic acid and collagenase ointment demonstrated promising results in the treatment of chronic wounds. This treatment may offer a valuable addition to current wound care practices, particularly in challenging cases such as diabetic ulcers. More research is recommended, including randomized controlled trials, to validate these findings.

Tissue engineering heart valves (TEHVs) are expected to address the limitations of mechanical and bioprosthetic valves used in clinical practice. Decellularized heart valve (DHV) is an important scaffold of TEHVs due to its natural three-dimensional structure and bioactive extracellular matrix, but its mechanical properties and hemocompatibility are impaired. In this study, DHV is cross-linked with three different molecular weights of oxidized hyaluronic acid (OHA) by a Schiff base reaction and presented enhanced stability and hemocompatibility, which could be mediated by the molecular weight of OHA. Notably, DHV cross-linked with middle- and high-molecular-weight OHA could drive the macrophage polarization toward the M2 phenotype in vitro. Moreover, DHV cross-linked with middle-molecular-weight OHA scaffolds are further modified with RGD-PHSRN peptide (RPF-OHA/DHV) to block the residual aldehyde groups of the unreacted OHA. The results show that RPF-OHA/DHV not only exhibits anti-calcification properties, but also facilitates endothelial cell adhesion and proliferation in vitro. Furthermore, RPF-OHA/DHV shows excellent performance under an in vivo hemodynamic environment with favorable recellularization and immune regulation without calcification. The optimistic results demonstrate that OHA with different molecular weights has different cross-linking effects on DHV and that RPF-OHA/DHV scaffold with enhanced immune regulation, anti-calcification, and recellularization properties for clinical transformation.

The increasing prevalence of dry eye syndrome in aging and digital societies compromises long-term contact lens (CL) wear and forces users to regular eye drop instillation to alleviate discomfort. Here a novel approach with the potential to improve and extend the lubrication properties of CLs is presented. This is achieved by embedding lubricant-secreting biofactories within the CL material. The self-replenishable reservoirs autonomously produce and release hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural lubrication and wetting agent, long term. The hydrogel matrix regulates the growth of the biofactories and the HA production, and allows the diffusion of nutrients and HA for at least 3 weeks. The continuous release of HA sustainably reduces the friction coefficient of the CL surface. A self-lubricating CL prototype is presented, where the functional biofactories are contained in a functional ring at the lens periphery, outside of the vision area. The device is cytocompatible and fulfils physicochemical requirements of commercial CLs. The fabrication process is compatible with current manufacturing processes of CLs for vision correction. It is envisioned that the durable-by-design approach in living CL could enable long-term wear comfort for CL users and minimize the need for lubricating eye drops.

Adult stem cells occupy a niche that contributes to their function, but how stem cells rebuild their microenvironment after injury remains an open-ended question. Herein, biomaterial-based systems and metabolic labeling are utilized to evaluate how skeletal muscle stem cells deposit extracellular matrix. Muscle stem cells and committed myoblasts are observed to generate less nascent matrix than muscle resident fibro-adipogenic progenitors. When cultured on substrates that matched the stiffness of physiological uninjured and injured muscles, muscle stem cells increased nascent matrix deposition with activation kinetics. Reducing the ability to deposit nascent matrix by an inhibitor of vesicle trafficking (Exo-1) attenuated muscle stem cell function and mimicked impairments observed from muscle stem cells isolated from old muscles. Old muscle stem cells are observed to deposit less nascent matrix than young muscle stem cells, which is rescued with therapeutic supplementation of insulin-like growth factors. These results highlight the role of nascent matrix production with muscle stem cell activation.

Cancer is a global health issue that requires modern treatments. Biocompatibility, variable size, and customisable targeting ligands make polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) a flexible cancer therapy platform. Dynamic nanocarriers, Hyaluronic Acid (HA) coated PNPs, target the overexpressed CD44 receptor in cancer. Through improved permeability and retention, HA, a naturally occurring, biodegradable polymer, increases tumor accumulation and penetration. Hyaluronic acid-grafted polymeric nanoparticles (HA-PNPs) provide a number of advantages over other varieties due to their distinct characteristics. They used CD44 receptor upregulation on cancer cells for selective administration, leveraging the EPR effect for cancer site accumulation. Their natural composition improves biocompatibility while promoting conjugation with a variety of medicinal compounds and providing influence over size and surface features. HA-PNPs facilitate effective cellular uptake, safeguard their cargo, and have the possibility for regulated release, which leads to better delivery of drugs and therapeutic efficacy. While problems, such as CD44 expression variability and drug loading modification, persist, HA-PNPs offer a viable path for targeted and successful treatment of cancer due to their intrinsic benefits. HA-PNPs can be coupled with imaging agents to enable real-time tracking of the delivery of drugs and therapy response, hence enhancing individualized treatment regimens. HA-PNPs can be programmed to respond to particular environmental signals found in the tumor's microenvironment (such as pH, redox potential, and enzymes). This enables for controlled dispensing of therapeutic cargo only when it reaches the target site, reducing systemic exposure and associated negative effects. HA-PNPs have the ability to overcome common MDR processes used by cancer cells, thereby enhancing the efficiency of previously ineffective chemotherapeutic medicines. Recent advances in HA-functionalized PNP fabrication and cancer applications are covered in this article. It discusses complete treatment effectiveness and HA's targeting of tumors and receptors. The study describes production, clinical trials, and problems and prospects in turning HA-coated PNP platforms into viable therapeutic nanomedicines. HA-functionalized PNPs are versatile, targeted nanotherapeutics for various tumor types and disease stages, as shown in this comprehensive study.
